Kayla Macedo is a Mexican American illustrator based in Chicago where you can often find her eating pasta or sketching, sometimes both. She creates whimsical and playful work that brings nostalgia and a sense of mindfulness in hopes to inspire both children and adults. 

She is currently finishing her last semester at Columbia College Chicago with a BA in illustration and is Lead Graphic Designer at the Columbia Chronicle. Kayla hopes for her work to be found in children's books, editorial illustration, and pre school tv shows. 

Kayla’s ambitious energy and innovative traits have helped her to stay determined in achieving any goal she sets her mind to. When she is not drawing she enjoys reading, playing soccer and making clay earrings.
